Buying right HDD is very important for great performance. Less storage and speed can make your life hell so before buying make sure you are buying a perfect soul mate for your pc. There are some tips which you should consider before buying a new drive for your pc.
1. External or Internal?

First of all you need to decide what type of hard drive you’re gonna buy, external or internal?
Both drives are very different. External Drives works from outside your computer which you can connect via USB whereas Internal Drives works from inside. External drives are expensive but it is good to keep backup. Internal Drives are better value overall, but if you already got enough internal storage then go for external.
2. Storage

Amount of storage is a crucial factor in selecting your new hard drive. 1TB external hard drive cost around 4k rupees but its storage is more than 200 blank DVD storage or 1200 blank CDs. Best way to select ideal size is choose a hard disk drive that has twice the capacity you currently need.
3. Speed

Next crucial factor is speed. I bought sony hard disk last month which is giving approx 100mbps transfer rate which is good but not above the mark. If your disk speed is less then maybe you have to wait for hours after copying.
4. Budget

As I already mentioned, external hard disk drives are slightly more expensive than internal disk drives but you can find some deals online easily. The cheapest hard drive available in market cost about 2400/- for 500 gb storage [sony offers same space for 4k rs.] while the most expensive 2TB drives can cost about 15k rs [that’s huge]. So before buying check your pocket!
5. Security

Security is very important for today world. A wrong decision and someone can get your all personal and professional data. But, external hard disks have found a solution by giving password protection optica and finger print recognition. It will be more expensive but privacy is also important.
6. Brand

When it comes to hard drives, brand is always the important factor. Don’t go for local brands or you maybe stucked with low speed drive or may lose your precious data just to save some money. It always safe to buy from trusted manufacture likes :

7. Warranty

External HDD get broken easily so its best to buy HDD with at least 2 year warranty.
